We have become insulated from pain and suffering which has caused us to lose touch with reality and meaning. We all have mental health, just like we all have physical health. We are always body, mind and spirit. We all have healthy and unhealthy habits that affect our mental health. Not all of us have mental illness. For those who do, sometimes it is chronic and sometimes it is acute. Sometimes it is caused by physiology. Sometimes it is caused by environment. Sometimes it is caused by our choices. Good habits for mental health include: relational connections, conversations, counseling, spiritual direction, diet, exercise, medicine and spiritual practices. Jesus heals through the love experienced in God’s grace and human community.
