At The Edge Within Yourself

What if the greatest frontier we face is not out there in the world, but deep within our own souls? Two grieving disciples walk away from Jerusalem, their hope shattered, their expectations crushed. That single detail reveals something stunning about how Jesus works. He meets us exactly where we are, on our own path, in our own confusion, and gently peels back the layers until something deep inside us begins to stir. We are invited to consider whether the mindsets we carry, the scripts we have written about how life and faith are supposed to work, might actually be the very thing standing between us and a deeper experience of God. The disciples had it backwards. They believed liberation had to come before communion. Jesus reversed the order entirely, and at a simple table, breaking bread, everything changed. The same reversal may be waiting for us.
