Weight Lifted

Proverbs 12:25-26
25 Anxiety weighs down the heart, but a kind word cheers it up. 26 The righteous choose their friends carefully, but the way of the wicked leads them astray.

This verse is short but so true. In my life I have struggled with anxiety. Analysis are saying that our generation is one of the most anxiety ridden generations. We worry about everything and struggle to connect with people. We are weighed down by our emotions and we are not sure how to release our worry. God is our way to rid our hearts of anxiety. Through his love and in relationship with him we are freed from the chains of fear. In order to be released we must acknowledge our fears and work toward trusting God with those areas of our lives.

This week your challenge is to take time to think about your fears. What weighs down your heart? What holds you back from living a life for God? Write your fears down and put it somewhere you can see it daily. When you see it pray that God lifts the weight off your heart.

God this last week we searched for your peace and rest. This week we are taking the first step to fully trusting you. God I pray that we can identify what is holding us down and holding us from you. I pray that you can shine light on our fears. We thank you for your presence in our lives. Thank you for grace and mercy and the light you bring to our world. In your Sons name, Amen.
